Human traffickers prey on the vulnerable. Many victims come from poor families, often the sole breadwinner, and who are looking for opportunities to earn a better income and improve their lives. They are lured by the false promises of a better life and ensnared into a life of exploitation and abuse, both physical and mental. The lucky few who are rescued, go through a long process of healing and recovery.
Wen (not her real name) is one of many who was mis-led into a life of exploitation, isolation and abuse; but was fortunate enough to escape.
